01-18-15: Update on Federal Mediation

Amy MasciolaMediation, StrikeLeave a Comment

Dear Sisters and Brothers,

As you know, leaders of our bargaining team are currently engaged in negotiations with company representatives under the auspices of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service (FMCS). While the process is ongoing, the director of the FMCS, Allison Beck, has imposed a gag order on all parties. Therefore, we cannot discuss any details of the process. Of course, we understand many of you are frustrated by the lack of information. We ask for your trust and your patience.

We want you all to know that your actions and words of solidarity are tremendously helpful. We have seen your unity over the last 94 days increase and strengthen despite tremendous sacrifices. We could not be more proud to be part of this union family.

We are working every single day to reach a fair deal as soon as possible. As we work through this process, we know you are holding the line. Please continue to organize the kind of creative actions we’ve watched from afar over the last two weeks. You are inspiring the entire labor movement by demonstrating what it means to be UNION STRONG.

Thank you for your support, your trust, and your patience. Together, we know we can keep up this fight, one day longer, one day stronger!

In solidarity,
